It's raining, cold, but we don't care 'cause we're seeing Green Day live in about 3 hours!

As soon as you exit the Metropolitana station (subway), you're urged to buy Green Day Warning Tour T-shirts. The 200 meter way to the Palavobis is full of stands selling them. I can't resist and buy one (cheap, fortunately), but will realize later back home it was just a fake one, as all those T-shirts sold outside. Mine has The Corrs logo printed under the Green Day logo. Recycling! They were playing here some days ago, I guess.

It's about 8 pm when The Bouncing Souls, "from New York" as they say, start playing. Great opening act of about half-hour. Half an hour later, it's Green Day's turn. The crowd is going mad! The show begins with Nice Guys Finish Last, then Castaway without a break. Billie Joe plays maracas in the middle of the song and goes "Buona sera Milano! I said hey oh..." Everybody is repeating. "Thank you very much. We are Green Day! All right, ready to sing along? Are you ready???". They end the song and continue with Blood, Sex and Booze.

"Grazie" gives Billie off. All the crowd follows with "Prego"! Here we go now for 3 non-stop tracks. "This song's called Geek Stink Breath" shouts Billie before playing it, and then 2 songs from Dookie, Longview and Welcome to Paradise. "Hello! Hi! All right, wanna hear a very very pretty song?" asks Billie. "Very pretty song, okay..." He hits a chord 3 or 4 times... Can't really call that a song! The three Green Day go then into their old hits Hitchin' A Ride, Brain Stew and Jaded.

Mike and Tré now play some jazz. Billie asks: "How are you feeling out there? Okay, what song do you wanna hear right now? Any song you want. What the fuck do you wanna hear? What song do you wanna hear? Request!" Most of the people is shouting "Basket Case! Basket Case!". "Next! Hold on, hold on, hold on... Okay, all right. This song's called 2,000 Light Years Away" answers Billie. We'll deserve a part with trumpet in the middle of the song. Sounds great!

Basket Case begins, the crowd is wildly enthusiastic and sings along! After the song She, Jason White from Pinhead Gunpowder comes to play the guitar on King For A Day, while Billie sings with a superb crown on! They continue with F.O.D. (Fuck Off and Die), Minority, and then leave the stage. Billie plays harmonica during Minority, and goes "I said hey oh..." many times, even once with a 30 sec "Heeeeey"!

Alone back on stage, Billie Joe plays the great Good Riddance (Time of Your Life). A lot of people light their lighters; this scene is really beautiful! The band encores with Warning, and Platypus (I Hate You) with again Jason White on guitar and Billie running on the stage while singing. The show ends with Waiting, When I Come Around and Macy's Day Parade. Tré Cool doesn't destroy the stage as usual, only knocks his drum set over. "Grazie..." says Billie a last time.

The Palavobis was pretty full, I'd say about 10,000 attended. My only regret tonight: they didn't let anyone from the crowd play on stage, like they always do. Anyway, this was a very cool concert!
